We can ID this Woodcreeper as a Northern-barred Woodcreeper as follows:
- Overall brownish plumage - the wings are rufous (see second photo)
- Fine barring on head and nape. You can just make this out in the first photo if you look very closely. The Northern-barred Woodcreeper is the only Woodcreeper that has barring on the head and neck; others do have streaking
- Area between bill and eyes is dark, with whitish stripe below it
The Northern-barred Woodcreeper is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 831A.
