We can ID this Tyrant Flycatcher as a Social Flycatcher as follows:
- Short, slightly downcurved (you can see this in the first photo), thin bill (This distinguishes the Social Flycatcher from the Great Kiskadee and Boat-billed Flycatcher, which are similar looking, but have long, thick bills)
- Bold, black and white striped head
- Olive-brown upperparts
- Yellow underparts, with white throat.
The Social Flycatcher is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 798A.
