We can ID this Screech-Owl as a Pacific Screech-Owl by its location at Playa de Matapalo (this is not in the range of the similar Tropical Screech-Owl or other Screech-Owls)) and facial disk, which is less distinct than the Tropical Screech-Owl.
The Pacific Screech-Owl feeds mainly on insects. It is a cavity nester, which takes over old woodpecker cavities for their nest.
The Pacific Screech-Owl is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 785.
