Bowerbirds have an extraordinary complex courtship and mating behavior. The males build a bower to attract mates. The bower in these photos has a central hut surrounded by twigs and brightly colored blue objects - bottle caps, glass, plastic, etc. The male spends hours arranging this collection.
Mate-searching females commonly visit multiple bowers. Many females end up selecting the same male and some return next year to the same male and search less.
