Because this bird was in a thick tangle we could not get a good photo of it in its entirety; rather we obtained two partial photos. Putting together these two photos with our visual observations, we can ID this bird as a Great Antshrike by its black head, black upperparts, white underparts, red iris and two white wing bars.
The Great Antshrike is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 562.
