FULVOUS WHISTLING-DUCK, GARGIULO TOMATOE FIELD, IMMOKALEE, FL

   We can identify these ducks as Fulvous Whistling-Ducks as follows:
  • Long grey bill
  • White band across its tail.  This csn be clearly seen in the second photo.
  • White stripes on flanks
  • Rufous-brown crown; sides of head, neck, chest & belly are a rich rufous-buff color; back is dark brown
   The Fulvous Whistling-Duck is a new species to our Life List, which now stands at 251.
