JUVENILE MAGNOLIA WARBLER, SIX MILE CYPRESS SLOUGH PRESERVE, FT. MYERS, FL

We saw this bird during a field trip on 11/14/15 from the Audobon of the Western Everglades to Six Mile Slough Preserve in Ft. Myers.  We can ID this bird as juvenile (1st Winter) Magnolia Warbler as follows:
  • Bright yellow breast and belly
  • Two white wing bars
  • Grey head
  • Black tip on tail.  If you look closely at the tail in the photo you can make this out.
  • White eye ring
We would like to thank Orlando Hidalgo for help in identifying this warbler.

The Magnolia Warbler is a new species to our Life List, which now stands at 244.
