PEKIN DUCK AT LAKE WILCOX PARK, RICHMOND HILL, ON

The Pekin Duck is a domesticated duck, originally bred from Mallards in China.  It was brought to North America around 1873.  It was bred for commercial use for its eggs and meat, but is also a common pet.  This duck was probabably a pet that escaped or was let loose.  It was hanging around with the Mallards in Lake Wilcox.
