This weekend Sharon and I will be going to the birding festivals at Prince Edward County Bird Observatory and Presque'ile Provincial Park. Today we did some birding in Cobourg, ON and Belleville, ON, where we are staying.
The most exciting part of the day was sighting and photographing a species we hadn't seen before: the Common Raven. We sighted and photographed the following species of birds:
- Caspian tern, both on the beach and in flight
- Common Raven
- Mute Swan
- Double-crested Cormorant
- European Starling
- Long-tailed Duck
- Ring-billed Gull
- Canada Goose
- House Sparrow
- Mallard
- Song Sparrow
Also, while getting some information at the local CAA office in Belleville, ON
we sighted and photographed a fox in the field outside the office. After the photos of the fox are views of the marina and lighthouse on Lake Ontario in Cobourg, ON.
